Grey’s Anatomy S19 E15 - Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome

I just finished watching a recent episode of Grey's Anatomy. A patient named Lindsay Allyn presents with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.

I have to say, this episodes presentation of EDS is by far better than the one they did in 2016.

It is beyond the standart textbook version and at some point Amelia Sheppard even explains that every patient has unique symptoms. It also shared part of our struggles of living with this rare disorder.

The patient, in the show, fractures her neck (which was previously fused), and her explanation how it happened (falling over while trying to shave leg in the shower), is exactly as crazy as we zebras injure ourselves sometimes.

What amazed me the most is that they even mentioned eosinophilia, and this is not even widely regocnized, yet. Even my own doctors at a university hospital brush my elevated eosinophils off, every single time a lab is run!

I would say, it shows that awareness is key, and it works! Great job Grey's!!!
