🛠️ Process Improvement for the Disabled / Lean thinking on wheels—dog included, chaos excluded.

Ever wondered what happens when you mix mobility aids, luggage, a determined traveler (aka “broken” paramedic), and a Chihuahua—with a side of process improvement? You get ME: cruising through the airport with purpose and precision.
The setup? A wheelchair (occupied), a dog in a carrier on my lap (her tiny head poking out like a TSA officer), a backpack hanging off the back for balance, and a rolling suitcase hitched behind like a streamlined supply chain. It may have looked unconventional, but it was efficient. Every item had a place, every movement a function. There was no wasted effort, no chaos, just Lean travel in action.
Today, this post comes from the perspective of my “new” career in industrial-organizational psychology (or maybe from my German genes?), where process improvement isn’t just a workplace concept—it’s a way of thinking. After all, Lillian Gilbreth pioneered these principles, 1929, in her kitchen. I just applied them at Terminal C.
