Who is The Zebra Medic®?

Meet Jessy, a highly experienced paramedic with over 20 years of experience in both Germany and the USA. Diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a rare connective tissue disorder, she combines her medical expertise with personal insights to advocate for patients with rare diseases.
Jessy currently works as a patient advocate at a clinic specializing in Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and related conditions. She is also a writer and co-author, with ongoing work including both academic publications and a forthcoming book.
She is pursuing her Master’s in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, with graduation expected in October 2025, and plans to continue on to a PhD in Social Psychology to explore the intersection of psychosocial factors and experiences with rare diseases. Jessy is a CITI-certified research professional and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology.
Through her blog, Jessy shares her unique perspective, providing resources, insights, and support for individuals and families affected by rare conditions.
